Analytical material by Volodymyr Reznik, Doctor of Sociological Sciences: “The sociocultural divisions of Ukrainian society under war conditions and their effect on the personal significance of national statehood”
Over the years of the Russian-Ukrainian war, sociocultural divisions, fractures and splits have not disappeared. Observing, in 2024, the links between Ukraine's linguistic, geopolitical/geocultural and, to a lesser degree, denominational differentiation and differing perceptions of its statehood brings out the threats that internal sociocultural conflict poses to the national solidarity and resilience of Ukrainian society. The present-day displays of valour by Ukraine's citizens in confronting its existential enemy may become the factual grounds for an ideological case for conflict-free and non-controversial sociocultural foundations of a new national solidarity and resilience.
