The monograph presents the key findings of the research project “States of stress among the population of Ukraine in the context of the war: prevalence, risk groups and ways of compensation”, carried out under the competitive programme of the NAS of Ukraine “Research and scientific and technical (experimental) work under the priority direction ‘Ukrainian society in conditions of war, post-war transformation and European integration' for 2023–2024”.
The authors address three lines of enquiry: the history of the study of stress by Ukraine's academic sociologists, the substantive findings of the project, and new methodological work. The last of these sums up the work on instruments for measuring psychological distress in cross-sectional research carried out by successive generations of researchers at the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine over more than 30 years.
The materials offered should be of use to everyone interested in the study of individual well-being in Ukrainian society.
