Popular science material by Viktor Burlachuk, Doctor of Sociological Sciences: “War in the space of a literary text”
The website of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine has published a popular science material by Viktor Fokich Burlachuk, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, "War in the space of a literary text" (some thoughts on Dm. Bykov's book “VZ. A portrait against the background of a nation”. Freedom Letters. Kryvyi Rih, 2023. — 839 pp.)
At the end of last year the independent publisher Freedom Letters brought out a book by the well-known Russian writer Dm. Bykov, “VZ. A portrait against the background of a nation”, which deals with Volodymyr Zelenskyi's political biography.
This work goes beyond the purely biographical genre, since it is an attempt to clarify the situation in which the world finds itself as a result of the full-scale war unleashed on the European continent. What is of the greatest interest to us, therefore, is not the facts of Zelenskyi's personal biography but the “background” announced in the book's title. More precisely, we are interested in the discourse of war and its variants as represented in the space of a literary text.
