The website of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine has published a popular science material by Olena Zlobina and Nataliia Soboleva, Doctors of Sociological Sciences, "Ukrainians in the labour market: problems and prospects"
Ukrainian media do not lack publications assessing the changes in the labour market that have taken place and continue to take place during the war. In May of this year, for instance, UNIAN published an extensive piece analysing current labour-market trends on the basis of expert commentary, data from numerous surveys and an analysis of statistics. The present state of the labour market as a whole is characterised by a number of contradictory tendencies. On the one hand, slow economic growth continues, as the rising utilisation of production capacity indicates; on the other, this process is constrained by intensified shelling and further losses of production capacity, infrastructure and housing. Negative migration trends play a separate and important role in this. According to the inflation report of the National Bank of Ukraine, in the first half of 2025 the number of migrants grew, though at a slower rate than the year before (by about 60,000 compared with more than 200,000 in the first half of 2024, not counting the Russian Federation).
