A research and practice conference dedicated to the anniversary of Yevhen Ivanovych Golovakha

On 19 September 2025, on the initiative of the Southern Ukrainian branch of the Sociological Association of Ukraine, the research and practice conference “Psychological time in the dimensions of the person, culture and society” was held, dedicated to the anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian sociologist and psychologist, Director of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine, Yevhen Ivanovych Golovakha.

The event took place at I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, in the meeting hall of the Academic Council.

The idea behind this conference is to talk with great scholars while they are with us, so that their experience and wisdom go on living in the hearts and the work of the generations that follow.

The valuable moments of scholarship are not only discussions but also the warm congratulations of our esteemed colleagues. On behalf of I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, Vice-Rector Iryna Anatoliivna Lomachynska congratulated the man of the hour.

On behalf of the Southern Ukrainian branch of the Sociological Association of Ukraine, Yevhen Ivanovych was congratulated on his splendid anniversary by the head of the regional branch, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor of the K. D. Ushynskyi South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University Olena Vasylivna Liseienko.

The following papers were given at the plenary session of the conference:

- by the man of the hour, Yevhen Golovakha (Director of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine), “The psychological time of the person: born in the Kyiv of the 1980s and revived in the Odesa of the 2020s”;

- by Inna Holubovych (Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor, head of the Department of Philosophy of I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University), “Oral history as a philosophy of philosophy: a variation on a theme by Yevhen Golovakha”;

- by Nataliia Rodina (Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, head of the Department of Psychodiagnostics and Clinical Psychology of I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Psychological Association), “Current possibilities of psychodiagnostics in studying the mental health and well-being of the person”.

The discussion of various aspects of research into the psychological time of the person, mental health, the social well-being of the person in contemporary society and other important questions of present-day psychology and sociology continued at a round table.

The conference acquired a special atmosphere thanks to a musical gift for all its participants from the Emil Gilels Art School No. 1 of Odesa.

It was a genuine intellectual celebration that will be remembered for a long time.
