A new monograph from the Department of Social Expertise
We offer to the attention of researchers and the public the collective monograph “Behavioural strategies of the population amid the spread of socially dangerous diseases”, academic ed. H. Chepurko, Doctor of Sociological Sciences (chapters by H. Chepurko, O. Klymenko, Yu. Pryvalov, O. Trofymenko), 223 pp. Approved for publication by the Academic Council of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine.
This monograph is the result of the collective work of the researchers of the Department of Social Expertise (H. Chepurko, O. Klymenko, Yu. Pryvalov, O. Trofymenko); it analyses the current state, tendencies and threats of the spread of socially dangerous diseases in Ukrainian society and in the world, and the main foreign theoretical conceptual models of behaviour change most widely used in health care in relation to the prevention of socially dangerous infections.
It shows the relationship between the dynamics of the spread of socially dangerous diseases and social inequalities and the behavioural strategies of the sick under conditions of war in Ukraine.
It identifies the main models of behaviour of the key population groups at risk of infection with TB, HIV, hepatitis and STIs amid the spread of socially dangerous diseases.
It reveals the relationship between the models/types of behaviour of risk groups and the factors that shaped them.
It proposes treating the countering of socially dangerous diseases not as a system of medical measures but as a complex political, administrative, economic, social, medical, humanitarian and cultural problem, whose resolution by purely medical means and through sectoral health administration is ineffective.
For researchers, teachers, students and all specialists interested in questions of the population's behavioural strategies amid the spread of socially dangerous diseases.
