Attitudes towards higher powers in Ukrainian society

14 July 2024

An interesting material by Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine Serhii Dembitskyi, “A few things about attitudes towards higher powers”, has been published on the YouTube platform “Academic Sociology”, based on the sociological monitoring survey “Ukrainian Society” and on data collected by the Rating group for the Institute at the end of June and the beginning of July this year.

In analysing attitudes towards higher powers or the supernatural, the author distinguishes 5 points of view (positions): atheism, agnosticism, deism, theism and religiosity. He divided the answers to the question “What is your view of higher powers or the supernatural?” into 5 options. The most votes (24.7) went to the option “Higher powers exist and act in a supernatural way, but are not in fact connected with religions”.

More data are in the slides and in the video
