Working with the Zotero reference manager (lecturer — Oleksii Vedrov)

Storing information about the literature and producing citations and reference lists in line with journals' requirements can take up a great deal of researchers' time that could be spent on productive work.

The most popular software for easing and automating these tasks is the reference manager Zotero — very convenient to use and free of charge.

Oleksii Vedrov of the Sector of Sociological Monitoring talks about the advantages of the program and his own experience of using it, in particular about:

• keeping notes and summaries in a single software environment;
• quickly adding bibliographic information about (almost) any publication in a single click;
• quickly inserting citations and automatically generating a reference list in the chosen format;
• integration with text editors and browsers, and synchronisation options;
• working with shared reference lists for research groups.
