A meeting of the guarantors of the “Sociology” educational and research programme

In April 2026 the Institute of Sociology hosted the customary meeting of the guarantors of PhD educational and research programmes in “Sociology” in Ukraine, now held for the third time. This year the meeting brought together the guarantors and stakeholders of 10 educational and research programmes for the training of Doctors of Philosophy in the field of “Sociology” from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih. There was a fruitful exchange of experience and a discussion of the whole set of questions connected with running such programmes — from admission to the postgraduate school to the defence of completed dissertations before one-off specialised councils. Attention was focused not so much on the successes of the programmes as on the problematic points, in order to understand what causes the greatest difficulties and to outline possible ways of resolving them. In the course of the discussion, forms of further cooperation were agreed and the questions requiring the attention of the relevant state bodies were set out.
