Meeting with Olga Burova

On 1 February 2024 doctoral students met Olga Burova, Senior Researcher at the Department of Socio-Political Processes and Ukraine’s national representative to WAPOR.

Doctoral students of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine are keen to gain wide-ranging experience and to carry out their own research. They therefore think about finding research partners inside and outside the country, maintaining academic contacts and contributing by drawing on the experience of leading researchers.

Olga Burova explained that membership of the World Association for Public Opinion Research can help with this. The association promotes the highest professional standards, ethics and survey methods worldwide. Through publications, seminars, meetings and educational initiatives, WAPOR sustains a rich and continuous dialogue among its members. Meeting colleagues from all over the world and exchanging news, ideas and findings really is a remarkable experience.

The meeting convinced us that membership of WAPOR is extremely useful and productive. We thank Olga Burova for an interesting conversation and for encouraging us to look for opportunities for international cooperation and to use the resources WAPOR offers.
