The Doctoral Students’ Club is improving its work

The young researchers’ initiative of the Institute of Sociology, the “Doctoral Students’ Club”, aims not only to strengthen the network of current doctoral students but also to develop links with graduates of the doctoral programme of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine.

In order to build a dialogue with current and former doctoral students, and to fit the format and programme of activities as closely as possible to the needs and expectations of club members, the initiative plans to run regular surveys of members on the desired format and topics of meetings, the most pressing questions, and the speakers members would like to see.

In October 2023 the first pilot survey was conducted, covering both the desired topics for meetings and the working format of the club itself — how members communicate and interact, how often they would like to meet, and so on.

The results will be taken into account when designing the club’s format and programme of activities for 2024, and will help make that programme as interesting, relevant and useful as possible for all club members.
