In 1966 he graduated from the Ilya Mechnikov Odesa State University with a degree in history, and in 1974 from the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU with a degree in the history of the communist and labour movements and of national liberation movements. In 1975, at the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU, he defended a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on «The Communist Party and the trade union movement of the USA in the struggle against the anti-labour policy of the Nixon administration (1969-1974)». He has worked at the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine since 1991.
Research interests: the sociology of the global system and of international relations, economic and military globalisation, globalism, the international labour and trade union movement.
