Trofymenko Olesya Volodymyrivna

Since 1996 and to the present day she has worked at the Centre for Social Expertise of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine as a sociologist-expert. In 1997 she entered the faculty of sociology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

She completed her university studies with the qualification of sociologist with the right to teach in 2002. In 2002 she entered the postgraduate programme of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine in speciality 22.00.04 - special and branch sociologies. She was attached to the department of social expertise; her academic supervisor was Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Yu. I. Saienko. She completed the postgraduate programme in 2005. In 2005 she was appointed a leading sociologist of the department of social expertise of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine.

Research interests: the sociology of leisure, tourism and sport; marketing research; the sociology of youth; the discrimination and stigmatisation of vulnerable groups of the population; behavioural studies among groups at risk of HIV/AIDS and STIs.
