The collective monograph “Social traumas of war and new directions in the transformation of Ukrainian society”: a monograph edited by H. Chepurko, Doctor of Sociological Sciences. Kyiv: Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine, 2026. 375 pp. This monograph examines the phenomenon of the social trauma of war as a process of profound transformation of Ukrainian society. It offers a theoretical understanding of social trauma not merely as an individual or collective experience, but as a process of structural change that spans the demographic, socio-economic, political, socio-cultural and informational spheres. It is shown that war, as a radical historical rupture, disrupts normative expectations and transforms social institutions, forms of interaction and collective identities, shaping a new configuration of the social order. The monograph is the result of the collective scholarly work of the staff of the Department of Social Expertise of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine, carried out within the departmental research project “Social traumas of contemporary Ukrainian society as a consequence of Russian military aggression” (2024–2026).
