About the publication
This monograph is the result of the collective work of researchers, and examines the phenomenon of the social trauma of war as a process of profound transformation of Ukrainian society. It offers a theoretical understanding of social trauma not merely as an individual or collective experience, but as a process of structural change that spans the demographic, socio-economic, political, socio-cultural and informational spheres. It is shown that war, as a radical historical rupture, disrupts normative expectations and transforms social institutions, forms of interaction and collective identities, shaping a new configuration of the social order.
Particular attention is paid to the relationship between objective transformational processes and the way they are experienced socially. The monograph sets out the logic of long-term social change and outlines possible trajectories for the development of Ukrainian society under the conditions of war and post-war recovery.
It is addressed to researchers, lecturers and students, to representatives of civil society organisations, and to civil servants and politicians.
