Sociological Monitoring Sector
About the unit
The decision to create the Sector was made by the directorate of the Institute of Sociology (Yevhen Holovakha, Serhii Dembitskyi) in October 2024, and it began work in January 2025. The reason for creating the Sector was the need to process the vast body of scientific sociological information amassed through the 'Ukrainian Society' sociological monitoring survey, conducted annually since 1994. A no less important task of the Sector is to look for opportunities to conduct new waves of the monitoring survey.
The Sector carries on the scientific tradition of monitoring-based sociological research into the democratic and market transformations of Ukrainian society (Valerii Vorona, Nataliia Panina, Yevhen Holovakha), and the tradition of developing sociological indicators (indices, scales, tests) founded by Nataliia Panina.
