The article explores the role of local self-government as a key component of democratic governance in Ukraine, with a focus on the outcomes and challenges of decentralization reform. It analyzes the impact of delegated powers on service quality, community autonomy, and public trust. The empirical basis includes data from a quantitative CAWI survey involving 400 respondents—residents of Ukrainian cities with over 50,000 inhabitants, including those currently living in non-occupied territories or abroad. The study evaluates public satisfaction with local governance, citizen participation, anti-corruption efforts, and postwar recovery measures.
